DESCRIPTION: Kerman rugs are city rugs, and were extremely popular throughout the 19th and 20th centuries in Europe due to their silky wool pile and extremely tight weave. (Kerman rugs are knotted so finely that one square inch of knots can have as many as 800 knots, more than any other oriental style carpet!) The Truxton is a classic Kerman pattern: a large deep blue palmetto pattern spans the entire rug's field, and soft, curving, floral embellishments line its borders. This rug has been treated with an antique wash, softening its tones to appeal to the palette of any modern-day home. Pattern, color variation, and signs of wear with vintage items is normal and only enhances its charm.
